Brutus Wigglebuns

Brave little Brutus Wigglebuns! This tiny man may initially appear fearful, but once you learn his history, you’ll realize that Brutus is a brave survivor. He has overcome a heartbreaking past and is ready to embrace a loving, nurturing future.

Brutus was rescued from a shelter, emaciated and weighing only 9.5 lbs. We don’t really know his story, but the scars on his body tell of a past that’s best left forgotten. The monsters that kept him apparently put out cigarettes on his body and once set him on fire! For this reason, this sweet boy is asking for a gentle, calm new home.

The hell of his prior life has made this gentle boy occasionally cowering and fearful, so his new family should be patient as he’s understandably timid when meeting new people.

Brutus loves people and his family is the most important thing to him. He requires slow and controlled introductions to new people in his home, and would do best without boisterous children or teens. He would like to have at least one well adjusted dog sibling as he takes cues from the other dogs in the house. Since he does experience some separation anxiety from his people, the other pup(s) help him feel safe when his humans leave home. Although he loves his foster dog siblings, Brutus will need a bulldog experienced family who sets clear boundaries between himself and the other dogs early on to ensure he doesn’t try to rule the house. But, once he settles in, he will accept his place in the pack and show his household nothing but love.

Brutus is potty trained, and currently goes out for potty breaks around 4 times daily with his foster. On occasion he enjoys a stroll through the neighborhood, but would prefer a wagon or carrier for longer adventures out with his family. Brutus does not like to be crated, and does totally fine if he is in a room with the other dog(s) when the people are out of the house. If he is left alone he will bark and feel extremely left out. He’s otherwise well-mannered. Brutus loves cozy dog beds, the couch, pillows and blankets to burrow in and take long naps.

Brutus has mild seizures and requires medication 3x per day. His skin is still healing from his past and he needs medicated baths 2x per week. He also receives a cytopoint injection for his allergies every 5 weeks. His future adopters will need to be able to continue with this for the rest of his life.

This little man has been to hell and back. The rest of his life should be filled with sunshine, rainbows, cuddles, and tasty treats. If you’re ready to show this brave boy how safe and loving life can truly be, please submit your application for Brutus Wigglebuns!
