Sweet Waverly Moonthistle would love nothing more than to cuddle with you on the couch! If you’re looking for a scrumptious little couch potato that will happily greet you with kisses when you come home from work each day, this is the girl for you. Waverly is deaf and will thrive in a calm, consistent home. This poor gal was picked up as a stray and entered the shelter with fresh wounds, old scars, and painful cauliflower ears. Fortunately, she received much-needed medical care and is looking and feeling much better now!Waverly underwent TECA surgery and is now free of ear pain. She is deaf from recurrent, untreated ear infections and has learned hand signals to confidently navigate the world with her person. This big gal (she’s a 25 lb Frenchie shaped like a small English bulldog!) has partial facial paralysis, so she doesn’t blink simultaneously and needs eye lubricant to stay comfortable. She underwent a cardiology evaluation and was diagnosed with a heart murmur and arrhythmia. Her condition doesn’t require cardiac medication, just monitoring her activity.Waverly’s ideal home will be safe and cuddly. She’s crate-trained, potty-trained, and uses the doggie door with confidence. She hopes to find a home with few stairs and with a small yard for sunbathing and potty breaks. When her foster mom leaves for work, Waverly spends the day snoozing, occasionally waking up to explore and sniff for crumbs or to go outside for a potty break. Our Lovable Lemon can’t get enough of her person, but tends to have some behavioral around strangers and needs proper and slow intros. She can occasionally have a stranger danger attitude which leads to her barking and growling at strangers at times. Luckily, she has been working with one of our trainers who have greatly helped to improve her trust and issues with the unfamiliar Her ideal family will enjoy short, leisurely strolls, taking care not to over-exert Waverly because of her heart condition. She enjoys a slow, steady 15 minute walk each day. Waverly would do best with a confident human, preferably with bulldog experience, to help her feel safe, protected, and calm. She does best with a confident, patient leader to protect her. Waverly will thrive in a calm, quiet home without young kids. She is fine with other dogs and can also thrive as an only dog. She loves cuddling and snoozing on the couch. On her own, she enjoys playing with toys and chewing on a bone. She needs daily eye lubricant and a cardiac supplement, both non-prescription, plus she relies on hand signals for communication. Otherwise, Waverly is an easy girl! She’s ready to love you and be loved by you. If this quirky little couch potato touches your heart, please apply to adopt Waverly Moonthistle!
